=============================================================================== Introduction and Notes =============================================================================== Omega Frag: (WW_3) This map is all about fast and furious Arena DM. It is basically a split level vertical design. The top half is the 'Rocket Jump Arena' with 5 rocket jumping platforms, that make the air route, often the best route. There is plenty of adrenaline and health around to keep all us Rocket Jumpers happy. :) The map also offers numerous anti-grav pads, to help propel the action. The lower half is the inner workings of the Arena's power center and ventilation system. The entire facility is self-sufficient tapping it's energy from geo-thermal hot spots in the area. Another unique feature of the map is something I call 'The Gauntlet'. I suggest you *run* through this hex-tunnel, unless you have a thing for being squashed. If you dilly-dally on your way through, you will be mashed into the ground by trip-lasered pile drivers. This tunnel is filled with health, so you'll want to utilize it when you are low on health and being chased. The beauty of it is this, you cannot be followed through The Gauntlet! Anyone attempting to follow you will be squashed. Finally there is a way to shake your attacker and recharge your low health all in one fell swoop. However, what is really interesting is when two people try to run the Gauntlet from opposite ends of the tunnel simultaneously. Both players being followed by descending pile-drivers...let's just say it can get a little messy. ;) Also keep your eye out for the shootable button on the ceiling. Shooting this will open the drop-chute doors, and allow the player to see if the Quad is available in the upper level. I ended up modifying it into a split door design, as there were some inherent glitches with the way the iris-door would get drawn by the engine. These were pointed out by EutecTic himself.
