******This map designed for the Opposing Force CTF Modification******* ====================================================================== =================Half-Life Map Specification Sheet==================== ====================================================================== ------General Information--------------------------------------------- Title :Black Mesa Transit Junction Version :Release 1 Filename :op4ctf_junction.zip, Release Date :October 20th, 2001 - 10/20/2001 Author :Morlam Author Email :morlamweb@yahoo.com Description :Op4CTF in Black Mesa's Transit Junction See op4ctf_junction.txt for the story Previous Maps :"The Black Mesa Caverns", bmcavern.zip Rated 8/10 at Biohazard Maps Rated 2/5 at Hornetking's "River Station" Opposing Force DM Edition, op4_riverstation1_1.zip Rated 8/10 at The Snark Pit "River Station" Half-Life DM Edition, riverstation.zip ------Credits and Thanks---------------------------------------------- Gonnas of the Valve-ERC (see below) for his honest critique of the second beta of this map. Gene Montgomery, for his help in ensuring the map's compatibility with the standalone dedicated server versions. The usual suspects, id Software and Valve Software for making Quake and Half-Life, respectively. QuakeGuru, who made the Tram prefab which I heavily modified for this map. 69th Vlatitude - http://www.vlatitude.com/ } Valve ERC - http://www.valve-erc.com/ | - for their tutorials ERR/Map.Core - http://www.mapcore.com/ } ------*op4ctf_junction.res-------------------------------------------- Server Admins: please place the included resource file "op4ctf_junction.res" in your gearbox maps directory so that players can download the custom resource files in this zip. The map will NOT work if players do not have the ALL the custom resources installed in the proper directories. Installing the .res file will make Half-Life autodownload the .wad and .wavs along with the .bsp. Players: you do not need to worry about this file as long as you install the custom resources into the correct folders. ------Additional Info, Tips, and Notes-------------------------------- This map features a different style of CTF play from the regular Op4CTF style of play. In addtion to defending/capturing the flag, your team must turn off the enemy team's power generator. Doing so will temporarily disable the lasers protecting the enemy flag, opening it up to capture. You cannot be harmed by the lasers protecting your team's flag. Lasers will stay off for 160 seconds and can be deactivated once every 3 minutes (180 seconds). All powerup items are included. They spawn at weighted spawn points. This means that powerups will spawn closer to or in the losing team's base. If the team scores are even, they will spawn randomly. Warning lights and sirens signal the arrival of a tram at the Junction. Weapons not included: Hivehand(personal preference), Penguins, Gluon, and Gauss Cannon(recommended by the design guide). ------Play Information------------------------------------------------ Capture the Flag :Yes Deathmatch :no Single Player :no Map Description :Op4CTF in Black Mesa's Transit Junction How Many Players :8-10 per team ------Map Information------------------------------------------------- New Textures :yes, op4ctf_junction.wad (39) New Sounds :yes (6) New Models :no ------Construction---------------------------------------------------- Base :none Editor(s) used :Worldcraft 3.3, QuArK 5.10, PakScape, EditPad, Wally, Paint Shop Pro 6, Sound Recorder Build Time :about month and a half, off and on Compiler Tools :Zoner's Half-Life Tools, version 2.5.3 Compile Machine :233 Mhz Pentium MMX, 48 MB of RAM Compile time :HLCSG- 723.20 seconds HLBSP- 1727.30 seconds HLVIS- 1107.96 seconds HLRAD- 2022.08 seconds Total- far too long (about 1 hour and 33 minutes).
